Announcements

Attention Special Education Parents & Students

You are hereby notified that the Scottsboro City Schools Department of Special Education, in accordance with Alabama State guidelines, will destroy special education records of former students who discontinued receiving special education services due to dismissal from services, graduation, or withdrawal during the year of 2019. These records are no longer needed for educational purposes.  All unclaimed records will be destroyed after September 30, 2025.  If you are affected by this and desire records for possible future benefits, you may pick up these records at the Scottsboro City Board of Education by September 30, 2025.  We are located at 305 South Scott Street.  Please call 256-218-2108 in advance so that records can be pulled and ready for pickup.

The Scottsboro City Schools Child Nutrition Program will be participating in the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) for the 2025-26 school year.  Under this provision, all Scottsboro City Schools will provide FREE breakfast and FREE lunch to all enrolled students.  Students who choose to purchase á la carte items (water, chips, ice cream, etc.) will need to have money in their student accounts, as these items are not included in the provision.  It will not be necessary for families to complete the Free & Reduced-Priced Meals Application for the 2025-26 school year to determine eligibility.  For additional information, please contact Ms. Melva Krell, Child Nutrition Director at mkrell@scottsboroschools.net or 256-218-2100.
